My Car Shakes When I Drive Over 65
The shaking is typical of a tire that is out of balance. My guess is i need a wheel alignment/balance?
This week the car started shaking when i drove over 70 mph.
My car shakes when i drive over 65. However, after 2 month or so, the problem came back. Vibration only starts at about 60 mph and then gets worse as speed increases. Then, the problem went away.

I'm going to take the car to the mechanic saturday, but just wanted to get any ideas on what could it possibly be? You might not have noticed the vibration until the higher speed, however, because it increased with velocity.
I took my car to the mechanic, and he resurfaced all four rotors, and balanced all four tires. It does get worse from say 60 to 65 and 70 to 75, so yes it does get worse with acceleration. No, turning does not make vibration worse or better. Once going over 40mph, it shakes.
Tires are balanced with metal weights. We've checked the tires, had them balanced. There is a very minor vibration below 65 but becomes very pronounced approaching 65 lessens by 70 gets bad again ~75.
It could be spark plug problems, air induction, or issues with fuel delivery. It can be felt easily and needs to be fixed as early as possible to avoid any unfortunate situation. Engine problems, including a broken engine mount, can cause some vibrations in the steering wheel.
You may notice the engine jerks from within its compartment. This does not happen when driving under 65 mph. There's no engine light or anything that shows signs of something's wrong, except before the car was.
Every vehicle running on the road needs periodic maintenance to keep running smoothly and safely on the road. Don’t drive your car for long without having. I took it in to the toyota dealer and told them about the problem.
They ended up giving it an alignment and wheel balance. When i hit the brake at or over 65 mph, the steering wheel start to vibrate. Also, applying brakes does not make a difference (not a warped brake rotor disk problem).
I own a 2001 toyota corrolla. My first suggestion is to have the tires inspected and rebalanced. Sometimes brake rotors can be the cause of.
If the suspension on your vehicle is out of alignment, it may cause the wheels to vibrate at certain speeds. It gets worse around 60 mph but starts to get better at high speeds. If i'm talking out loud while driving over 40, you can hear the shake in my voice.
Over time, weights can come off. Turning the rotors or replacing them solved the problem. If the tires are out of balance then the steering wheel can shake.
The manifestation of this problem can also cause the entire car to shake. Guess what, it still vibrates. If they vibrate inconsistently, its less likely its tire balance, and more likely its a mechanical component, most likely wheel bearings.
